Every listing says where its information came from and when we looked.
English
English confirmed The business's own site or an official tourism page says English is supported.
English website There's an English website, but nothing says the staff speak English.
Ask about English The site is in Japanese, or only third-party sites mention English. Ask them before you book.
Tattoo rules at onsen
Tattoos OK Tattooed guests can use the shared baths.
OK if covered Small tattoos are fine if covered, usually with a sticker the onsen sells or gives you.
Private bath only Tattooed guests can use a private bath but not the shared ones.
No tattoos Tattooed guests can't use the baths.
Ask about tattoos We couldn't confirm the rule, or sources disagree.

Prices come from the pages we checked and may be out of date. Always confirm before you book.
Photos
Most photos are free-to-use area photos from Unsplash. A caption that starts "Area photo" shows the area, not the business itself. We never copy photos from a business's own site or a booking site, and we'll swap in our own photos as we visit. Every photographer is listed on the photo credits page.
