Tattoos: Ask about tattoos. Facility sources conflict. The official main bath page (read today) still lists under its usage requests that people with tattoos, including sticker or paint tattoos, are firmly refused entry. But a Japanese guide updated 2026-09-13 quotes the same official main bath page as saying the tattoo bathing restriction was lifted from 1 April 2025, a second guide (updated 2026-08-20) says the same, the Odakyu Hakone Trip page (modified 2026-04-02) says tattoos welcome, and user reports from Oct 2025 to Feb 2026 say entry was fine without stickers. hakone-japan.com (undated) says no tattoos for both the main bath and private baths. Other official pages (FAQ, private bath page) block automated reading, so the current rule could not be confirmed. (recheck Oct 24). Earlier: Sources disagree. Odakyu Hakone Trip page (modified 2026-04-02) says tattooed guests are welcome and there are no restrictions. Conflict: the Hakone tourism association page (undated, older prices) says no tattoos allowed in main or private baths. Facility's own FAQ could not be read.

Private bath: Yes. 19 private open-air bath rooms (Hanare Yuya Kaden), 120 min: Type 1 (2 people) 9,400 weekday / 10,400 weekend; Type 2 (4 people) 11,400 / 12,400; Type 3 (4 people) 13,400 / 14,400 yen. Book by phone up to one month ahead, same-day at front desk. Open to day visitors. Rental towels included with private rooms.
