Tattoos: Ask about tattoos. The group day-trip spa page contradicts itself on the same page. Its section on tattooed guests says the group does not in principle refuse stays by tattooed guests, asks that tattoos be covered in the main bath and other public spaces, and sells cover stickers at the front desk (330 yen incl. tax, 114 mm x 114 mm); guests who want to bathe without worrying are asked to use group inns with private open-air baths or rooms with hot spring baths. But rule 17 of the 18 bathing manners on the same page says people with tattoos are refused entry regardless of tattoo stickers. The sticker section is worded around overnight stays and does not say whether it covers day bathers; neither part names a specific bath. Honkan accepts day bathers (13:00 to 20:00, last entry 19:30, adults 1,400 yen, children 700 yen). A 2026 guide reads the group rule as a refusal. (recheck Oct 24).
